Biographical Notes:

Filippo Adami was born in 1980 in Fiesole, on the heights above Florence. A tenor with a repertoire that stretches from Monteverdi to Stravinsky, he specialises in 18th and 19th century Italian music, and particularly in the music of Rossini. He is in constant demand all over Italy, and his international carreer is rapidly expanding. He has appeared in London, Paris and Vienna, in Germany and Spain, at the Wexford Festival and in China and Japan. It is unusal for a young singer at this stage of of his career to be able to find an opportunity to come as far from Europe as New Zealand.

His interest in Rossini's serious operas has led him to develop his upper head-voice and his ability to encompass passages demanding exact focus, precise articulation and great agility.

His programme will include both operatic arias and drawing room songs.
