The bienniel Adam Portraiture Award 2008 judge was Dr Lilly Koltun, the Director of The Portrait Gallery of Canada, La Musée de Portrait du Canada.

Eastern Southland Art Gallery Adam Award Exhibition

36 portraits from the Adam Award Exhibition 2008 exhibited at the Eastern Southland Art Gallery in Gore from 28 June - 3 August 2008.

The Adam Portraiture Award and Exhibition ran in Wellington between February 21 and Sunday March 30 and the selection at Lopdell House Auckland 17 April to June 8 2008

Sunday 30th March 2008 at 6pm we hosted, along with the NZ - UK Link Foundation, an illustrated lecture by Freeman White on his year abroad as the 2006 Adam Portraiture Award winner. The lecture was in Shed 11, Queen's Wharf, Wellington Waterfront, where we were showing the 2008 Adam Portraiture Award.

Freeman White stayed in Edinburgh and painted portraits there, becoming the first New Zealander to have a commission from the Scottish National Portrait Gallery. He then moved to Germany where he had a 2 month residency in the Moselle area, painting the surroundings for Staffelter Hof, near Krov.During this time he was invited to take part in a three-day figurative symposium in Heidelberg. All are welcome.

Public exhibition of the Adam Award portraits began at Shed 11 on Wellington waterfront near the Railway Station on February 21 2008 following the announcement of the winner on February 20 and continued until March 30.
